Have you ever wanted a bird to land on your hand or shoulder?

Today we gonna show you an obedient "bird" that flies anywhere you want it to! It's the ultimate bionic technology invented by Edwin, a French aeronautical engineer. It can precisely mimic the flight of birds.

Light, portable and safe (it’s oarless).
The MetaBird was created for the pure joy of flying. Here's how it looks like while flying.

It can even attract real birds to play with!
This time, it’s pursued by real birds again!! Guess which one is the MetaBird?

It's more than a "bionic" drone!

The MetaBird flies by flapping its wings instead of the helicopter design common to most drones. It's pretty realistic!

The MetaBird began its redesign 10 years ago, taking inspiration from "nature" and aiming to blur the line between natural organisms and robotic drones. Evolved from a solid and safe point of view, using biological simulation methods to create the closest bird-like drones!
The flying distance of MetaBird is as long as 120 meters, and it has an amazing sense of flying freely. With a larger wingspan, it can reach an amazing height or a long distance in a short time quickly.

Connect to the MetaBird via an app on your phone and you can control its flight, turn and glide. And it turns with extra flexibility as the phone tilts.

It has won the gold medal at the Concours Lepine in Paris
The miniaturization and kinematics patents are the core of the MetaBird. This allows the MetaBird to reach speeds of up to 20km/h, with its wings whipping up to 18 times per second.

Weighing only 9.5 grams.
With a length of 17cm, a wingspan of 33cm, and a weight of only 9.5g, the compactness makes it really light. It is hard to imagine that such a small body can combine such powerful functions. Although it is very compact, it is found inside the MetaBird: an electric motor and two processors. The materials used are flexible but strong, such as carbon fiber for the wings of birds.
The designer showed a stunning simplicity of design.

The fuselage of the MetaBird is made of sturdy, soft, elastic foam, and flexible wings made of carbon fiber and liquid crystal polymers for impact damping, which are light but strong enough.

Couple that with a reinforced and flexible structure that holds the parts together, so it can withstand repeated impacts on landing. Thus you don't have to worry about your drone crashing or breaking.
How does a bionic bird fly?

The secret of the successful development of the MetaBird lies in the invention of an ultralight engine and unprecedented kinematics. This patented technology is the key to the successful realization of real bird flight. The wing deformation and steering are very maneuverable, and the tail wing has five gear settings corresponding to five flight speeds.
The wings of MetaBird mimic real birds to give people a sense of reality. The sliding ballast system is adopted to optimize the balance of the wings so that they can truly fly or glide with flapping wings like real birds.

The App and some components of the drone can also be used to change the wings tilt and personalize the settings for an even more incredible flight experience!
